Helen teaches at a large public school in Sanctuary Point, south of Nowra in the St Georges Basin. They're one of only a few schools in the entire area, and run specific classes to assist their support needs and Aboriginal students.
Helen has been instrumental in bringing along a couple of classes to the Sydney Story Factory, no mean feat for what is more than three hours travel each way. Helen is always very hands-on in the workshops, acting almost like an assistant storyteller and giving a tremendous amount of support to her students. We discovered on their last visit that Helen is retiring at the end of the year too - we're sure she will be hugely missed by the school and the students.
Helen, thank you for going above and beyond to support your students with their creativity and expression!
