We run workshops with class groups during school hours. These workshops are either one-offs for two hours of hectic writing fun, or term-long programs where students develop a more complex piece of writing.
Not every kid wants to go from school to a writing class at the end of the day. But get them excited about the adventure stories that burst out of a box of treasures every week and you would be amazed at what can happen.
On weekends we offer workshops for aspiring novella-ists, young teens making the transition to high school in Woolloomooloo, and, from May 2018 at our brand new creative writing centre in Parramatta.
During any holidays, while tumbleweeds are rolling through the abandoned playgrounds of schools all over the land, budding writers are applying themselves to the task in workshops with Sydney Story Factory.
To make sure we're providing creative writing opportunities for the young people who most stand to benefit we run tailored workshop programs in collaboration with community organisations all over Sydney.
The Sydney Story Factory is all about encouraging young people everywhere to write, write, write. For those who can't get to one of our workshops in Redfern, or who have started doing some writing and just don't want to stop, we offer one-to-one tutoring over email.
