The Martian Embassy

A Mission from mars

To get to the Sydney Story Factory you must pass through the Martian Embassy and Gift Shop.

This dramatic, one-of-a-kind store sells everything any Earthling could need when preparing for intergalactic travel, including tins of gravity and spaceship repair kits. Income from sales helps cover costs for the Sydney Story Factory, but the Martian Embassy is much more than that - it is the portal to another world, a safe, friendly, kid-centred space where creativity is encouraged and imaginations come alive.

Just as 826 Valencia was the inspiration for the Sydney Story Factory, the Martian Embassy was also a continuation of one of their best ideas. Each 826 has its own unique shop: in San Francisco it's a Pirate Supply Store, in Brooklyn it's the Superhero Supply Co. Many other 826-inspired creative writing centres around the world have repeated the same idea. In London, The Ministry of Stories is hidden behind Hoxton Street Monster Supplies, and so on.

But there is only one Martian Embassy. Visitors are welcome, no visa required. If your space ship breaks down, as in this excellent video, see us first.

You can also buy online from the Martian Embassy and Gift Shop at any time, from the comfort of your own space pod.

Available for Hire

When the Martian Embassy is not chocka block full of kids writing furiously it's available for hire. If you're looking for somewhere different (actually, out-of-this-world different) to run a team planning day, inspire some creative brainstorming, or perhaps host an unforgettable after-work drinks then the Martian Embassy is the venue for you. The Embassy is usually all clear on Fridays and Saturdays during the school term, and other days too during school holidays.
