We're hiring a Volunteer & Office Coordinator for Parramatta

The Sydney Story Factory is a not-for-profit creative writing centre for young people in Redfern, Sydney. We aim to change the lives of young people, particularly those from marginalised backgrounds, through creative writing and storytelling.

We increasingly work in Western Sydney and are opening Sydney Story Factory Parramatta to support our work there. Scheduled to open in May 2018, the centre will run programs for young people aged 7 to 17 from across Greater Western Sydney.

We are looking for an awesome Volunteer and Office Coordinator to join our Parramatta team before the launch in May 2018. This role will have two main focus areas. One is to work closely with our Redfern-based Volunteer Manager to recruit, train and motivate a community of Western Sydney volunteer tutors. The other is to provide administrative support to the Parramatta team. Duties include printing and binding student publications, helping storytellers prepare for workshops, keeping accurate records of volunteers and students and general office management.

We are looking for someone with a passion for improving the lives of young people, who enjoys working with people from a wide range of backgrounds. Exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills are a must.

This is a permanent part-time position, 3 days per week, ideally with the three days spread over a 4- or 5-day week (this is negotiable). There is potential for the role to become full-time.
