The Sydney Story Factory is looking for an administration officer, to help us manage operations as we grow. The admin officer's main role will be to support our senior staff, particularly Storyteller-in-Chief Richard Short, and executive director, Catherine Keenan. S/he will also manage the administrative aspects of our Teacher Professional Development Program including enrolments, managing payments and receipts, and relaying information to the Board of Studies (BOSTES).
The admin officer will work part-time, three days per week, ideally with this time spread over a four- or five-day week, but this is negotiable. It's a role that requires exceptional organisational and computer skills (particularly familiar with Google apps and Xero), and the ability to work independently, juggle multiple tasks, anticipate problems before they occur, and remain calm while dealing with multiple competing demands. As with all staff at the SSF, an ability to work harmoniously with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds is essential, as is a love of writing and a desire to improve outcomes for marginalised young people. We encourage people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.
