Our Art Auction – Fine Lines – is Live Online!

02 Oct 2015

As of right now, Fine Lines is live online! Fine Lines is an exhibition and online auction of artworks inspired by poetry and song, and it’s our major biennial fundraising event. Over 40 of Australia’s leading artists have donated a work,  including this year’s Archibald Prize winner, Nigel Milsom, Locust Jones, Catherine Cassidy, James Powditch, Jason Benjamin, Bronwyn Bancroft, Narelle Autio and many more.

The artists were inspired by a range of poets, from Shakespare to Dorothea Mackellar and Les Murray. Some were even inspired by poems written by students at the Sydney Story Factory. Redfern artist Blak Douglas, for instance, created his piece based around a poem called Chopsticks by 10-year-old local boy, Rock.

The site went live at 8am today, Friday 2nd October, at www.32auctions.com/finelines and bidding continues until 5pm Saturday October 10. As of next week, you’ll be able to see the works in flesh, as the show is on at Depot II Gallery, 2 Danks Street, Waterloo from 6-10th October.

Meantime, take a peak online. The pieces are truly wonderful, and you’re bidding for a good cause. Proceeds go to fund our free creative writing programs for marginalised young people.

Happy bidding!
