Wildwood Imperium (the third book in The Wildwood Chronicles) is a great book for creative youngsters. It is the story of a 12-year-old girl named Prue, who finds that she can travel into a mysterious wood where animals talk and people can communicate with plants.

As the story unfolds, the reader finds that a terrible being made of pure ivy, called the Verdant Empress, plans to cover the woods in ivy. Little did Prue know, if the three trees of the wood were destroyed, the magical bind that separates the wood from Portland would be destroyed and the ivy would cover the city. But there is one hope – Alex, the Verdant Empress’s dead son. Prue and her friends can bring him back, but only as a mechanical boy Prince. He could stop the Verdant Empress!

I think the characters in the story are amazing and I felt very engaged in the storyline. All in all, I think this is a good book for kids age 7 and up. I rate it 9 out of 10 because sometimes there were a lot of stories going on at the same time and some bits were very complex.
