A girl called Jemma has excitedly gotten her first job as a babysitter, but her job is in this haunted house where a young girl was murdered. While in the house she finds an old necklace. When Jemma falls down a flight of stairs, she clasps onto the necklace tightly.

Jemma finds herself in 1895 and she is desperate to go home… until she meets Georgianna, the girl who was murdered. Jemma finds out that Georgianna is being poisoned and she is determined to save her new friend.

I think this is a good book because the characters are realistic – they’re almost based on the lives of real people (apart from the time travel).

The other books that Belinda Murrell has wrote are The Ruby Talisman, and Locket of Dreams, which are also about time travel.

I will recommend this to 9-14 year olds and rate it 9 out of 10. If you like books about going back in time and mysteries, I think this book might be for you!
