Black Beauty is a nice book that is both sad and happy. The reason why I decided to read the book is because I love animals and classic stories. The characters are sometimes cruel people, and sometimes nice people. The character I don’t like the most is Skinner. He is a very mean person that makes Black Beauty have a hard time. Skinner wasn’t the only person like that. Her ladyship was the very posh, fashionable person and wanted her horses wearing the bearing reins (which are the reins that force the horse’s neck to be stretched up high). Ginger, one of the main characters, had a hard life when she was young. When she was young, boys used to throw stones at her.

If anybody was to read this, it would be best for people who own a horse, or who really loves horses. I rate this book 10 out of 10 because there are happy and sad times. Sometimes it made me cry or feel angry because of cruel owners. This is the best book I have ever read!
