Meet Kate

February 2016

It's always a difficult time of year to pick a volunteer of the month, mostly because we haven't done many workshops yet! But it didn't take long to come up with Kate's name.

For the past term or so Kate has been travelling down from Newcastle - WEEKLY! - for workshops, both term-length and one-offs. She's also organised a friend in Newcastle to volunteer in the same manner.

If it was just her patience and courage in tackling public transport (oh yes, she does this by train and two buses) it would be one thing, but her kindness and sense of humour with her students are the real reasons she has this honour.

The look of unabashed love on her student's face during our recent Ronald McDonald House workshop alone got her over the line. Thanks so much Kate!
