How is the Sydney Story Factory funded?

We’re a not-for-profit so what we do is mostly funded through grants and donations from individual donors, trusts, foundations, businesses and corporates. Every donation, large or small, makes a difference. We also generate some income through activities like our Teacher Professional Development program and the Martian Embassy and Gift Shop.

How do I donate money?

You can make a one-off donation using the form HERE or become a Sydney Story Factory Inkwell with a recurring monthly donation of $30 or more.

Is my donation tax deductible?

All donations over $2 are tax deductible, and of course you will automatically receive a tax deductible receipt.

All of our workshops are free for students and in a typical year we run over 100 workshops all over NSW and work with hundreds of students. Your donation means we can plan ahead, improve the effectiveness of our creative writing programs and help even more marginalised young people.

As a donor you will help ensure the Sydney Story Factory can continue to provide innovative creative writing programs free for the young people most at risk of losing confidence in their writing abilities and switching off at school. Your generosity WILL change lives.

What does my donation go towards?

We always welcome donations of good quality items that we know we can use in our workshops and to support our students. Please just check with us first, to be sure your gift is something we can definitely use.

Can I donate other things, like books or stationery?
